After Luumäki, the route continues towards the northwest and the lower part of the Savitaipaleentie underpass. In Lake Ala-Kivijärvi’s Tynkäniemi, the paddler is greeted by numerous grey and white islets and rocks rising from the water. At Kelkjärvi, the bends in the waterway, coloured by the shore structures, provide a nice change of scenery. The Haukkasaari and Uitonsaari rest areas have a shelter and a landing place for paddlers.
