Forty-Kilometre Lure Fishing Area on Kymijoki River!

You can buy fishing permits here.

The Kymijoki River, renowned for its long fishing tradition and rich fish stocks, now offers fishermen excellent opportunities to fish in the Central Kymi Special Fishing Permit Area. The area is one of the longest continuous special fishing permit areas in southern Finland and is gaining a considerable reputation among fishermen and women.

The Central Kymi Special Fishing Permit Area starts at the Ankkapurha dam, Inkeröinen in Kouvola, and continues through the Ahvionkoski to the western branch of the Kymijoki River, all the way to Lake Tammijärvi in Pyhtää. The interesting river has rapids for casting and quieter areas for rowing and fishing.

A rich and varied fish stock is constantly maintained. This includes many fish plantings during the summer season.

There are rowing areas as well as motorised rowing areas and shore fishing sites. There are also no-fishing zones, so be sure to check the map and the rules.

Piirteenkoski is a flowing and popular fishing spot. Susikoski is a deep and wide stream, the Ahvionkoski area, initially stream-like, but eventually turning into several powerful rapids. In the western branch are Hirvivuolle and Hirvikoski, fishing spots that are popular with fishermen. The rest of the area is made up of stream beds and quiet waters.

The River Kymijoki also provides a good setting for other recreational activities such as canoeing and hiking. In addition, there are plenty of opportunities for cultural activities in the area's cultural and historical sites. Cycling routes run in places along the Kymijoki River (source: https://www.keski-kymenerityiskalastusalue.fi/en/).
