Day 2: Kultaa - Kotka, approx. 27 km

The next day starts from Kultaa and heads towards Kotka Island. This stage of the day is mostly along sandy riverside roads and paths - these are the so-called "pleasure kilometres". After the first few kilometres, it is worth stopping at the Pernoo rapids to admire the impressive rapids. From here on, the next stop is the stunning Siikakoski Waterfalls Park, where you can stop for lunch at Villa Munkholma or take a dip in the refreshing waters of the two beaches. The journey continues towards Langinkoski, admiring the ramparts of Kyminlinna. Langinkoski is a magnificent imperial fishing lodge built for Russian Tsar Alexander II, which is well worth a stop. There are also two charming cafés in the area. From Langinkoski you can hop on a pleasure boat that takes you along the imperial sea route to Catherine's Sea Park, Eagle Island. The trip takes about 20 minutes and the boat takes bikes on board. Alternatively, you can cycle along the cycle paths to Kotka Harbour and all the way to Kotka city centre. Kotka city centre offers a wide range of services. The most important place to stay is Kotka Seurahuone.
